One of the staples of South Indian cuisine, Dosas are not only tasty but also very healthy. There are umpteen number of dosas. This is a 3 dal dosa which consists of Urad dal, chana dal and moong dal. This protein packed dosa is quick and easy to make and does not need any fermentation.

Step 1

Soak the dals for at least 4 hours. Grind the dals with water (pani). The consistency of the batter should be like a normal dosa batter. Add salt (namak). There is no need to ferment the batter.

Heat a griddle/ tava. Apply little oil (tel) to it and smear properly.

Take a ladle of batter and pour on the griddle and spread it in the shape of a circle with the ladle.

Cover it with a cloche (dhakkan).

Remove the cloche (dhakkan), once you see brown spots on the dosa, flip it and let it cook without the cloche (dhakkan).

Once the dosa becomes crisp, remove it from the griddle/ tava.

Relish the crispy dosa with coconut (nariyal) chutney.
