2 tbsp Refined flour (Maida)
2 tbsp Corn Flour
2 tsp Soya Sauce
1 tsp Green Chilli Sauce
1/2 tsp Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
1/2 tsp Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder
2 tsp Water (Paani) only if required
As per taste Salt (Namak) only if required
300 ml Cooking Oil (Tel)

    Baby Corn Fry is a simple, no fail dish when you want to cook something tasty in a hurry.

    Baby Corn Fry is a crispy and crunchy fritter. You can make it any time of the day, week, month or year as baby corn is available all year round.

    Baby Corn is a product of the Corn (Maize) grain. It is harvested when the corn is very tender. It can be eaten with it’s cob. Baby Corn is very versatile, it can be used in almost any dish.

    Baby Corn Fry can be served as a starter or snack. It can also be a side dish with the other dishes in a main course. This dish can be a real saviour when you have unannounced guests. Make it a part of your party menu and your guests will devour it for sure.

    Now, let us see how to prepare this Baby Corn Fry.

    Firstly, wash and  slit the baby corn from the middle and then cut the slit parts into half.

    In a bowl, take refined flour (maida) and corn flour.

    Cornflour - Baby Corn Flour - Khanapoor

    Mix the two flours and add red chilli (lal mirch) powder, soya sauce, green chilli sauce, black pepper (kali mirch) powder, salt (namak) only if required as the sauces contain salt (namak). You can always change the quantity of red chilli (lal mirch) powder and black pepper (kali mirch) powder as per your taste.

    Add very little water to make a thick batter. The batter should stick to the baby corn pieces properly.

    Heat cooking oil (tel).

    Once the cooking oil is hot, put the baby corn pieces in it and deep fry.

    Step 1

    Take 2 tbsp each of refined flour (maida) and corn flour in a mixing bowl. Add 2 tsp soya sauce, 1 tsp green chilli sauce, 1/2 tsp red chilli (lal mirch) powder, 1/2 tsp black pepper (kali mirch) powder, salt (namak) only if required, as the sauces already contain salt.

    Add 2 tsp water (paani) only if required as the batter needs to be thick enough to coat the baby corn pieces. Put the baby corn pieces in the batter and mix properly.

    Heat 300 ml cooking oil (tel) and once it is hot, put the baby corn pieces in it and deep fry. Once it is completely cooked, remove it on a serving plate and relish it with any sauce or chutney of your choice.
