Banana Pak is a very easy to prepare, delicious dish which can be prepared in the blink of an eye.

Banana Pak can be eaten with any flat bread or as it is as a dessert.

This Banana Pak used to be prepared by my maternal grandmother especially when my mother and her siblings were children. They have very fond memories of eating this dish. Many a times, a lot of happy memories are associated with a dish and every time one eats it, they not only relish the dish but also relive the moments.

Let us see how to prepare this delicious Banana Pak or Banana in Ghee and Sugar Syrup.

Firstly, take some ripe cavendish bananas (kela). This dish tastes best with cavendish bananas (kela).

Peel and chop the bananas (kela).

Put ghee (clarified butter) in a kadhai (wok).

Then, add sugar (shakkar).

The, add the chopped bananas (kela) and turn on the gas stove. Keep the flame on low.

Stirring everything gently and properly. Do not stop stirring.

By the time the sugar (shakkar) melts, the bananas (kela) will also be cooked.

Let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes after the sugar (shakkar) has completely melted and your Banana Pak is ready. Eat it with chapatis or phulkas. You may also eat it as it is like a dessert. If you want more gravy, add more ghee (clarified butter) and sugar (shakkar) in equal quantities.

Take 6 Cavendish bananas (kela), peel and chop them.

In a kadhai (wok), put 1 cup ghee (clarified butter), 1 cup sugar (shakkar) and the chopped bananas (kela). Light the gas stove and keep the flame on low and continuously stir gently.

By the time the sugar (shakkar) melts, the bananas (kela) will also be cooked. Let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes after the sugar (shakkar) has completely melted. Your Banana Pak is ready. If you want more gravy, increase the quantity of ghee (clarified butter) and sugar (shakkar) in equal quantities. Have this Banana Pak with chapatis or phulkas. You may also eat it as it is like dessert.
