500 grams Chicken pieces with bone
1 tbsp Corn Flour
1 tbsp Refined Flour (Maida)
1 tsp Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) powder
1 tsp Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) powder
3 tbsp Water (Paani)
1 bulb Garlic (Lehsun)
1 big Onion (Pyaaz)
5 Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)
1 inch Ginger (Adrak)
2 tbsp Soya Sauce
1 tbsp Green Chilli Sauce
1 tbsp Red Chilli Sauce
As per taste Salt (Namak)
500 ml for deep frying + 3 tbsp Cooking Oil (Tel)

    Chicken Chilli Dry is a delicious dish from the Indian Chinese cuisine also known as Desi Chinese.

    Chicken Chilli Dry is a combination of many flavours and can be eaten as a starter or a side dish with your main course.

    This Chicken Chilli Dry has undoubtedly been one of my most favourite dishes since my childhood days, up until I became a pure vegetarian. It is quick, very easy to prepare with easily available ingredients.

    So, let us see how to prepare this lip smacking Chicken Chilli Dry.

    Firstly, thorougly wash the chicken (murgi) pieces. I have used chicken pieces with the bone. You may use boneless pieces as well.

    Make a thin paste with refined flour (maida), corn flour, black pepper (kali mirch) powder and water (paani).

    Marinate the chicken (murgi) pieces with the paste and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

    Heat cooking oil (tel) in a kadhai (wok).

    Deep fry the marinated chicken (murgi) pieces.

    Once they are cooked, remove them on a plate.

    Heat cooking oil (tel) in a kadhai (wok).

    Add the chopped onion (pyaaz). Keep the gas flame on medium while cooking this dish.

    Once the onion (pyaaz) turns translucent, add the chopped garlic (lehsun).

    Then, add the ginger (adrak) paste.

    Stir it properly and once the garlic (lehsun) and ginger (adrak) are cooked, add the slit green chillies (hari mirch).

    Then, add the deep fried chicken (murgi) pieces.

    Add the soya sauce.

    Give it a stir and add the green chilli sauce.

    Then, add the red chilli sauce.

    Stir it properly and add salt (namak) only if required as the sauces already contain salt (namak).

    Then, add red chilli (lal mirch) powder.

    Stir it properly and your chicken chilli dry is ready!!!

    Step 1

    Wash 500 grams chicken (murgi) pieces with bone thoroughly. Chop 1 big onion (pyaaz). Chop 1 garlic (lehsun) bulb. Make a paste of 1 inch ginger and slit 5 green chillies (hari mirch).

    Step 2

    Make a thin paste with 1 tbsp corn flour, 1 tbsp refined flour (maida), 1 tsp black pepper (kali mirch) powder and 3 tbsp water (paani). Marinate the chicken (murgi) pieces with this paste and let it rest for at least 30 minutes and then deep fry them in 500 ml cooking oil (tel). Remove the chicken (murgi) pieces after they are cooked on a plate.

    Heat 3 tbsp cooking oil (tel) in a kadhai (wok). Add the chopped onion (pyaaz). Cook this dish on a medium flame. After they turn translucent, add the chopped garlic (lehsun) and the ginger (adrak) paste and give it a good stir. Once the garlic (lehsun) and ginger (adrak) are cooked, add the slit green chillies (hari mirch).

    Add the deep fried chicken (murgi) pieces and then add 2 tbsp soya sauce, 1 tbsp green chilli sauce and 1 tbsp red chilli sauce. Give it a good stir and add salt (namak) only if required as the sauces contain salt. Then, add 1 tsp red chilli (lal mirch) powder and give it a good stir. Your Chicken Chilli Dry is ready.
