1 measure Refined flour (Maida)
2 tbsp Sugar (Shakkar)
1/2 tsp Salt (Namak)
1 cup Milk (Doodh)
1/2 cup Yoghurt (Dahi)
3/4 tsp Baking soda or fruit salt (eno) Fruit salt can be used instead of Baking soda
1 small bottle Nutella
1 tsp Cooking Oil (Tel)

Eggless Nutella Pancake is an excellent choice for breakfast or evening snacks.

Eggless Nutella Pancake is for people of different food choices.

Pancakes are one of the western world’s staple foods. They are round, semi thick, made from refined flour and eggs. But there are many who are vegetarian or are allergic to eggs. This recipe is ideal for them.

In ancient Greece and Rome, pancakes were a major part of their daily diet. But they used flour of those times.

There are different versions of pancakes like Crepes. They are French Pancakes which are thinner than the regular ones. Crepes are cooked on both sides.

Pancakes are similar to dosas, cheela, uttapam, appam, thalipeeth, pesarattu.

If you are a vegan, you can use lactose free or soy milk products.

To make it healthy you can also add whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) to the refined flour (maida). The proportion is up to you.

The main ingredients are refined flour (maida), sugar, milk, dahi and baking soda

Heat a pan, mix all the ingredients, and VOILA!! Hot pancakes are ready. To make it Eggless Nutella Pancake, spread nutella over the pancake or dip the pancake pieces in nutella.

I do prepare this once in a while as my husband loves pancakes. It is like a treat as it is not one of the healthiest options. But eating it occasionally and having portion control will not affect your health.

Step 1

Mix the refined flour (maida), sugar (shakkar), salt (namak), milk (doodh), yoghurt (dahi), fruit salt (eno)/baking soda and prepare a batter of your desired consistency.


Step 2

Apply oil to a pan/griddle/tava and heat it. Pour the batter on it and cover it with a cloche (dhakkan). Cook the pancake on a medium flame so that the bottom of the pancake does not get charred.


Step 3

Do not flip the pancake.


Step 4

Once it is cooked, plate it, apply Nutella over the pancake as per your taste and indulge your taste buds.
