2 Cups [1 Cup = 250 ml] Whole Wheat Flour (Gehun Ka Atta)
1 Cup Bengal Gram Flour (Besan)
5 Green Chillies (Hari Mirch)
2 tbsp Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
2 tbsp Coriander (Dhania) Powder
1 tsp Cumin (Jeera) Powder
1 tsp Cumin (Jeera) Seeds
1/2 tsp Turmeric (Haldi) Powder
1 Onion (Pyaaz)
As per taste Coriander (Dhania) Leaves
As per taste Salt (Namak)
As required Water (Paani)
3 tbsp Cooking Oil (Tel)

Missa Paratha is a delicious paratha prepared with whole wheat flour, Bengal gram flour, onions, green chillies, coriander leaves and spice powders.

Missa Paratha is a great food option as it is high in fibre and other essential nutrients.

One of my dearest friends Harmandir Kaur Raina, shared this recipe with me. Extremely grateful to her for sharing this recipe. This is undoubtedly one of my most favourite parathas in the world. It is very easy to prepare but extremely delicious in taste.

So, let us see how to prepare these yummy Missa Parathas.

Firstly, chop onions (pyaaz), green chillies (hari mirch) and coriander (dhania) leaves finely.

Take whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) in a mixing bowl.

To this, add Bengal gram flour (besan).

Then, add red chilli (lal mirch) powder, coriander (dhania) powder, cumin (jeera) powder, turmeric powder (haldi) and cumin (jeera) seeds.

Add the chopped onion (pyaaz), green chillies (hari mirch), coriander (dhania) leaves and salt (namak).

Then, add water (paani) and knead it into a dough. The dough should be similar to a chapati dough.

Make balls from the dough and roll it with a rolling pin (belan).

Heat a tawa (griddle).

Place the paratha on the tawa and cook it on a medium flame.

Once the bottom part is cooked, flip the paratha and apply cooking oil (tel).

Flip the paratha again and apply cooking oil (tel). There should be brown spots on both sides of the paratha.

Once the paratha is cooked, remove it on a plate.

Your Missa Paratha is ready! Have it with pickle, yoghurt or ketchup. I prefer to eat it without any accompaniments.

Chop 1 medium sized onion (pyaaz), 5 green chillies (hari mirch) and coriander (dhania) leaves.

Take 2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta), 1 cup Bengal gram flour (besan) and add 2 tbsp red chilli (lal mirch) powder, 2 tbsp coriander (dhania) powder, 1 tsp cumin (jeera) powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric (haldi) powder and 1 tsp cumin (jeera) seeds.

Add the chopped onion (pyaaz), green chillies (hari mirch), coriander (dhania) leaves and salt (namak).

Add water (paani) as required to make a dough. The dough should be similar to a chapati dough and let it rest for 15 minutes. Make balls from the dough and roll them with a rolling pin (belan).

Heat a tawa (griddle) and place the paratha on it and keep the flame on medium. Once the bottom side is cooked, flip the paratha and apply cooking oil (tel). Then flip again and apply cooking oil (tel) to the other side as well. There should be brown spots on both sides of the paratha.

Your Missa Paratha is ready! Serve it with pickle, yoghurt or ketchup.
