Sindhi Dal is a very delicious and nutritious. It made from chana dal. The ingredients are very easily available and it is very easy to make this dal.

Step 1

Chop the onion (pyaaz), tomato (tamatar), green chillies (hari mirch) and coriander leaves (dhania patta).

In a pressure cooker, heat the cooking oil (tel). Add the onion (pyaaz) and once it turns translucent add the tomato (tamatar) and green chillies (hari mirch) and fry for a minute.

Add the chana dal and fry for 2 minutes.

Add water (paani) and close the pressure cooker and let it cook till 4 whistles.

After the pressure from the cooker is released completely, add red chilli (lal mirch) powder, turmeric (haldi) powder, garam masala and dry mango (aamchur) powder and give it a good stir. Add more water (paani) if required.

Add salt (namak) as per taste and bring the dal to a boil.

In a small kadhai heat ghee (clarified butter), add cumin seeds (jeera) then add curry leaves (kadi patta) and pour over the dal.

Finally, garnish it with chopped coriander leaves (dhania patta). You can eat it with rice (chawal) or any flat bread (roti, chappati, naan, etc) of your choice.
